Jerry Zimmerer previously served on the 14th Court of Appeals, but was one of many Democratic appellate judges swept out of office in the 2024 election. He has a law degree from South Texas College of Law and spent 12 years working for AT&T Mobility. He is unopposed in the Democratic primary and faces Republican incumbent Scott Brister in November.
