Please tell voters about yourself.

I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I have lived in San Antonio for my entire life, except for a couple summers spent in Utah and Washington, a couple of long contract jobs in Alaska, and about 5 months in the Chicago suburbs. I have been a chef for over 14 years, mostly working for and developing local restaurants and bars.

List any previous experience in government or participation on local boards, commissions, or neighborhood associations.

This is my very first time running for local office. I have never before worked for any form of government. I am a true outsider with no ties to any local boards, commissions, committees, or neighborhood associations.

In the city’s 2024-2025 budget survey, residents ranked homelessness, streets, housing and animal care services among their top concerns for the city to address. Which issues do you consider a top concern for District 10 and how would you work to address them in your first 100 days?

Like all of San Antonio, District 10 is host to a myriad of issues. I would like to get our streets fixed, and finish the never ending construction by limiting the amount of new projects until the backlog of already approved projects are finished.

I want to completely overhaul ACS. Our neighborhoods are terrorized by stray animals, but ACS would rather spend our money sending its employees to Uvalde to mock the victims of the attack on Robb Elementary, as reported by InfuseSA.

I want to spend time talking to the homeless community about how THEY would like the city to help them, not just take their stuff and send them to setup camp someplace else. I also want to explore ways to make the houses and apartments in my district more affordable by lowering property taxes, and boosting our local economy so that more of our residents can afford to keep the homes that they already live in.

In a crowded field of council candidates, what differentiates you from the others?

Out of the 5 candidates running for the District 10 seat, I am most definitely the youngest. I think maybe that’s what San Antonio needs, a fresh perspective from a younger generation.

If elected, how do you plan to solicit input and feedback from residents in your district?

If elected, I would host monthly meetings in various parts of the district and invite residents to come and tell me what concerns them the most and discuss what I can do to address those concerns, while simultaneously highlighting and supporting small businesses that agree to host the meetings.
