Christine Vasquez-Hortick was first elected judge of the 225th Civil District Court in 2022. Before that she worked in private practice, was a law clerk for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and a congressional aide in the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy’s (D-MA) office. She ran unsuccessfully for the Precinct 3 seat on the Bexar County Commissioners Court in 2020. She faces one Republican challenger in her bid for a second term.
