Born a direct Canary Island descent, and attended San Antonio college then ended in Philadelphia as a student at Temple University studying Criminal Justice. I found my way home to Southwestern Bell employed as a directory assistance (411) operator for many years. With numerous years of member services at my local YMCA. Including volunteering for my community.

List any previous experience in government or participation on local boards, commissions, or neighborhood associations.

Including being an elected Precinct Chair from 2008-2016. In 2015 was a candidate for City Council in D-10, proudly securing 30% of the vote. In 2017 my love for community found me District Aide in the Texas House of Representatives District 116, specializing in constituent services.

In the city’s 2024-2025 budget survey, residents ranked homelessness, streets, housing and animal care services among their top concerns for the city to address. Which issues do you consider a top concern for District 9 and how would you work to address them in your first 100 days?

I prioritize public safety which is intertwined with homelessness. With violent crime rising 50% in only 2 years. And unsheltered homelessness being more visible than ever.  I would strive to promote a safe place for our growing generations, promoting structural reform, while creating changes in the operations and frameworks to address housing and homelessness. This includes improving communication between the various organizations.

In a crowded field of council candidates, what differentiates you from the others?

Me! I will always stay loyal to myself unchanging to be “the norm” and remain the person I am. I believe raising 5 children, now 7 grandchildren I have mastered budgets and critical thinking.

If elected, how do you plan to solicit input and feedback from residents in your district?

The solution to a good council woman requires one that advocates, holding up the message. I will not have a high rise District office, it will be ground level making it accessible to all. It is more than critical that there is continued focus on the needs of the District I represent, through dedicated leadership, and, most importantly, “Your voice, value and vision.”
