Carla-Joy Sisco ran for office in 2022 for Congressional District 35.

In the city’s 2024-2025 budget survey, residents ranked homelessness, streets, housing and animal care services among their top concerns for the city to address. Which issues do you consider a top concern for District 2 and how would you work to address them in your first 100 days?

These are the issues that District 2 has prioritized and how I will address them.

My Vision: Putting people first through support for:

Workforce Readiness:

  • Expanding dual-enrollment programs, allowing students to earn both a high school diploma and free college credits.
  • Developing trade skills, job re-entry training, second chance opportunities, and technology certification programs.

Safe and Secure Communities:

  • Reinforcing balanced funding to address all aspects of community safety, including street lighting, proper street signage, and animal control/safety.
  • Building collaborative relationships between residents and the police department.

Healthy Aging:

  • Funding wellness workshops for seniors on topics such as food safety, exercise for stress management, grief management, and chronic disease prevention.

If elected, how do you plan to solicit input and feedback from residents in your district?

Because District 2 consists of multiple generations there must be multiple ways to engage the community. This includes (but not limited to) posting information at senior and community centers, social media, providing information to neighbors associations and scheduling community events.
