In the city’s 2024-2025 budget survey, residents ranked homelessness, streets, housing and animal care services among their top concerns for the city to address. Which issues do you consider a top concern for District 6 and how would you work to address them in your first 100 days?
Homelessness is a symptom of many other pressing issue of public safety. This includes, property and theft crimes, drug/alcohol addiction, reckless/aggressive driving, domestic violence, assaults. The City of San Antonio Municipal Court has instituted several innovative strategies that work hand in hand with San Antonio Police Department which needs to be brought to the forefront of the public agenda with a continuing focus on community town halls and meetings to fine tune to reduce these issues. Streets, housing and animal care services also reflect the input of citizenry and partnership with City Agencies, and in investigation into State grant resources and potential private and public sponsorships.
