Hear from the candidate
Why should voters choose you?
In addition to having a law degree I also have a master’s in Public Affairs, which helps me understand working in bureaucracies and public management. I am the most experienced candidate. My substantial trial experience helps me know and understand the rules of evidence and procedure, which in turn allows me to conduct fair and efficient trials. I reduced the trial backlog in County Court at Law No. 15 by 90% when I was on that bench.
What do you see as the top challenge facing our local court system, and how should it be addressed?
The substantial backlogs created by COVID-19. I will address it the same way I did the backlog I had before, which was to run multiple trial dockets per week until such time as we can reduce it to one per week and then continue reducing the number of cases per docket as much as possible.
