Why should voters choose you?
I am the best choice for judge of County Court at Law No. 8 because I am a dedicated, hard-working woman who has spent a professional life in the pursuit of seeking justice for victims while ensuring that the innocent are set free. I love this community and want to see law and order return here for my family and for yours. I want to serve the people of Bexar County and use my extensive experience on both sides of the law to move cases fairly and efficiently through the court system.
What do you see as the top challenge facing our local court system, and how should it be addressed?
COVID-19 created a significant backlog in the amount of cases sitting unattended on the dockets of our local court system, while simultaneously the failing economic climate means resources, i.e. citizens’ tax dollars, are limited. The Bexar County Courthouse is in desperate need of local judges who are willing to work hard and efficiently. Far too many County Court judges are currently farming out their dockets to “visiting” or “impact court” judges, rather than rolling up their own sleeves and getting the job done themselves. Victims are continuing to wait for justice, criminals are going unpunished, the mentally ill in the system are being left untreated and the cases of the innocent continue to clog the system, all of which is a massive waste of resources and drains an already strained system. The solution is to elect hard-working candidates, like myself, who have a passion for making a difference here where we live.
