Seven of the top local leaders in higher education will make a rare joint appearance next month for the San Antonio Report’s inaugural event focused on post-secondary issues.
In “The Presidents’ Panel: San Antonio higher ed leaders open up about the future” at the Witte Museum on Sept. 4, these Bexar County college and university presidents will dig into the challenges and opportunities of this moment on our community’s campuses.
The panel will feature UTSA president Taylor Eighmy, Trinity University president Vanessa Beasley, University of the Incarnate Word president Tom Evans, St. Mary’s University president Winston Erevelles, Texas A&M University-San Antonio president Salvador Hector Ochoa, Our Lady of the Lake University president Abel Chavez and Alamo Colleges District Chancellor Mike Flores.
The conversation will be moderated by San Antonio Report editor in chief Leigh Munsil.
This must-see live news event is an extension of the Report’s education journalism, which expanded in May 2025, publisher Angie Mock explained.
“Earlier this year, we made a commitment to double our education coverage with the addition of a higher ed reporter,” Mock said. “The community has responded to this much-needed news coverage, along with our city’s top leaders in higher education. We are excited to have them all together to talk about the future of higher education in this rapidly changing landscape.”
Sponsorships for the event are still available. To inquire about sponsorship, email events@sareport.org.
