Alamo Colleges District is expanding Northwest Vista College’s footprint with the recent purchase of a nearly 200,000 square-foot office complex in the city’s innovation and corporate corridor in Westover Hills.
The property is located at 10,000 Rogers Run, about a mile away from the Northwest Vista College campus, and is expected to serve as an extension to house the college’s newly-approved Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cloud Computing and related technology programs.
“This investment is about creating access to the opportunities that drive economic mobility, and ensuring our learners are ready to lead in the industries of tomorrow,” said Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor, in a statement. “It’s a bold step forward in our moonshot of partnering to end poverty through education and training.”
Alamo Colleges purchased two adjacent lots on Rogers Run on Sept. 15, according to Bexar County records. The purchase includes a two-story building, a three-story building, a parking garage and a parking lot that surrounds the buildings.
District officials reported paying $37.97 million for the property.
This expansion is one of the capital improvement projects planned under the May 2025 bond, Flores said in an interview. Renovations on the building are expected to reach completion by the fall of 2027.
In May, voters approved a $987 million bond intended to fund projects at all five colleges under the Alamo Colleges District umbrella — San Antonio College, St. Philip’s College, Northeast Lakeview College, Northwest Vista College and Palo Alto College. This was the largest bond issue yet in the history of the community college district, which is meant to fund capital improvements.
The 198,000-square-foot office building includes a parking garage and sits on a 14.5 acre site in Westover Hills. Frost Bank, the Texas Cryptology Center, as well as data centers for Microsoft and Valero are also located along this corridor.

San Antonio College’s nursing and Emergency Medical Technician programs will also be taught at this location. Officials say the building will also house AlamoONLINE, which currently offers more than 160 degrees, certificates and training, with about 16,000 students enrolled online.
“We’re establishing a school of online learning, as well as working with employers to expand access for their current employees to upskill and pursue college credentials and degrees,” Flores said.
Northwest Vista is already the largest college among the five Alamo Colleges. An additional 2,000 students have enrolled since last fall, landing at about 22,000 students this fall. The college also issued about 3,034 degrees and certificates this year, nearly 700 more than in 2024 and the highest since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
IT is among the top three programs at Northwest Vista that result in transferring students to other colleges, with UT San Antonio and Texas A&M University-San Antonio receiving the largest number of transfer students from this college.
“Every industry and every business in San Antonio has a technology infrastructure, so the work that we are seeing developed here will support literally every industry in San Antonio, and we are excited about what that means in terms of jobs for our students,” said Northwest Vista College President Amy Bosley, during a presentation for the board of trustees last month.
