Looking for somewhere to cool off and have fun this summer?
The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department has 24 city pools free and open to the public beginning June 14 until mid August. All pools will be open six days a week, including weekends with closures varying by location.
Six pool locations have already opened for the 2025 summer preseason from 1-7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Select pools will also remain open into September, and the city is partnering with two school districts and the YMCA to offer free “Community Swimming Days” at North East Independent School District Sports Park Pool, Southwest ISD Aquatic Center and the Thousand Oaks Family YMCA.
Group swim lessons for all ages will be available at all 24 pool locations, and most locations will offer aqua fitness classes, including aqua zumba, lap swimming and water aerobics. Classes vary by dates, times and locations.
NEISD’s Sports Park Pool will be open to the public between 1 – 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between June 9 and July 31.
Residents can visit Southwest ISD’s Aquatic Center from 8 a.m. to noon on the following Saturdays: June 7, 14, 21 and 28, July 12 and 19 and August 2 and 9.
Thousand Oaks YMCA will host their swimming days between 1 – 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 24 to Aug. 7, with some Saturdays available.
Those with little ones can also play in the water at one of the city’s seven splash pads, open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Splash pads opened in March and are set to close in October.

At any pool, children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Senior residents can also join in the fun. Kingsborough Park will host “Senior Swim” for community members over the age of 60, offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 17 to Aug. 7.
