The San Antonio Report, a nonprofit, nonpartisan digital news organization that reports on issues of importance and interest in San Antonio, offers paid fellowships to eligible college students. Editorial fellowships are open to all students interested in a career in digital journalism as a reporter or photographer. Business fellowships are open to all students interested in nonprofit development, marketing and audience engagement. These positions play a key role in the most important work of the San Antonio Report, assisting with business operations or editorial news coverage.

The following positions are available for 2021:

  • Shiner Internship (2 summer positions) in partnership with St. Mary’s University
  • Next Generation News and Nonprofit Fellowship (2 spring, 2 summer, 2 fall positions)

The positions are part-time in the spring and fall and full-time in the summer. Positions are typically based in our San Antonio newsroom located in historic St. Paul Square on the city’s near-Eastside. Our employees are currently working remotely; we do not yet know whether fellowships in 2021 will be remote.

Current and recent college graduates are eligible for the internships and fellowships.

The San Antonio Report fellowship opportunities are generously unwritten by the Joni and Gary Raba Family Foundation. The summer Shiner Internship is generously underwritten by Carlos and MalĂş Alvarez of the Impetus Foundation. We are grateful to receive support from the community to nurture the next generation of nonprofit news professionals.

To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter to apply@sareport.org before the deadline.
