The Angel Affair
Any Baby Can of San Antonio is putting on its Angel Affair gala, an all-white attire event honoring people who make a difference in the community. Guests can enjoy cocktails, great food, silent and live auctions, and fashion vignettes at the event. The San Antonio Museum of Art is showing the Academy Award-winning film Birdman Friday. The movie is recommended for viewers 17 years and older. August Gartenfest at Beethoven Maennerchor

Davy Crockett Birthday Celebration
Celebrate Davy Crockett’s 233rd birthday at no other place but the Alamo. Guests will be able to see frontier demonstrations, shoot rubber band rifles, and meet Davy Crockett. Renaissance With The Stars Gala 2019: Summer Breeze
Local dancers put on a show around the theme “Summer Breeze” at the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund’s gala on Saturday. General admission tickets are $25, individual dinner tickets are $150, and varying levels of sponsorship and tables increase from there. Learn how to survive in different places – arctic climates, mountains, and deserts – by taking on challenges. Third Annual Margarita Throwdown
Four restaurants and a chef will compete to make the best margarita on Sunday. Tickets grant one sampling of margarita from each competitor and one order of two tacos al pastor. Lone Star Philharmonic Encore Concert
The Lone Star Philharmonic will perform Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 on Sunday. Pianist Zachary Ridgeway and musicians from all over South Texas bring their musical talent for this encore performance, conducted by Richard Castillo. This concert will be recorded and produced for a CD and a documentary about the orchestra. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be found here.

2019 Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza
Catch a seminar on bowhunting deer, ride a mechanical bull, and shop for all things hunting at the Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza. The event is open from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Weekend passes cost $15.
