After the lines have faded away and the South by Southwesters are making their way back home after a long week, Burger Records is continuing the party and making its way down I-35 to San Antonio and bringing along a few friends.
The third annual Burger Records Hangover Fest will make its way into The Korova, 107 E Martin St., on Sunday for two days of groovy, surf rock tunes with more than 20 bands.
The venue will host an outside and inside stage. The event is an all ages show and tickets are $25 and can be purchased online or at the door.
The line up includes local favorites like blues garage rock group The Bolos and pop rock trio The Rich Hands, along with international acts like psychedelic rock veterans The Oh Sees and garage punk girl group The Coathangers, all under the Burger Records name said Nicholas Ivarra, event coordinator and member of The Rich Hands.
The event also releases a new album by Nashville brother duo JEFF the Brotherhood.

“All the bands we are playing with in Austin are playing a second time in San Antonio,” Ivarra said. “It’s like one big party with family.”
Burger Records co-founder Sean Bohrman and Ivarra started a friendship three years ago when the label helped produce the groups record. He said they wanted to introduce some of the bands playing South by Southwest to San Antonio.
Ivarra said doing so has two main benefits: it exposes bands to a new audience and vice versa.
“It’s not oversaturated in San Antonio,” Ivarra said. “It’s a huge positive going in the right direction. It is affecting everything in the city in a good way.”
This show is just among the few other SXSW spillover shows that will be making their way through San Antonio this weekend.
The former White Rabbit reopening as the Paper Tiger, 2410 N St. Mary’s St., opened its doors Friday for the first time with a killer weekend-long line up and free shows featuring local band Saakred and international acts like Iceage. Click here to read more.
SouthXSouthtown will also host a weekend full of music that includes national, international, and local bands – with an emphasis on the latter – at Southtown 101.
