The Bexar County Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Collaborative is a community-based response to the effect the opioid crisis is having on mothers and their babies.

Lisa Cleveland is an associate professor at the UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing. She is a practicing board certified pediatric nurse practitioner and an international board-certified lactation consultant. She is currently conducting research to explore mother-infant interaction in opioid-exposed and non-exposed mother-infant dyads. She also has several community-based projects focused on recovery housing for women and children and overdose prevention and reversal.
