Kevin Barton is an Associate Professor-Professional Track in Computer Information Systems at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. A retired USAF Chief Master Sergeant, his experience living in Asia, Central America, and Europe for 17 of his 24 years of service helped shape his views on life and living. He commutes by bicycle, and has done so 12 months of the year in real winters of Germany and northern Japan, and real summers of Texas, as well as a lot of great weather. He has four children and is married to District 5 Councilmember Shirley Gonzales.
