"Dr. D." is a retired professor of environmental health who contributes occasional articles and photographs to The Rivard Report. She grew up in San Antonio, lived here again for a few years as an adult, then moved back to stay in the fall of 2011. Besides writing and photography, she likes reading, her dogs, travel, going out with friends, and the excitement of being in San Antonio again. Her main professional interests now are urban planning, transportation-oriented development, New Urbanism/Smart Growth, and the future of San Antonio.
