What is the meaning of our lives? New York Times bestselling author Arthur C. Brooks will answer this age-old question at Trinity University’s 2025-26 Distinguished Lecture Series titled “The Meaning of Your Life.”

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Laurie Auditorium on campus.

Brooks is a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Business School, where he teaches courses on leadership and happiness. He is also a columnist at The Atlantic, where he writes the popular weekly “How to Build a Life” column, and hosts the weekly podcast “Office Hours with Arthur Brooks.”

He has had 15 books ranked #1 on The New York Times Best Seller list, including “Build the Life You Want”, co-authored with Oprah Winfrey, “From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life” and, most recently, “The Happiness Files: Insights on Work and Life”.

Brooks is one of the world’s leading experts on the science of human happiness, appearing in the media and traveling the world to teach people in private companies, universities, public agencies, and faith communities how they can live happier lives and bring greater well-being to others.

The Distinguished Lecture Series is made possible through the generosity of the Walter F. Brown Family of San Antonio. This series brings some of the most influential leaders, pioneers, and thinkers to Trinity to share their personal journeys and provide insight into their life’s work.
