San Antonio’s City Council District 6 encompasses most of the city’s far West Side.

Longtime Councilwoman Melissa Cabello Havrda (D6) is leaving the seat to run for mayor and eight candidates are running to take her place. If no candidate takes at least 50% of the vote on May 3, the top two finishers will advance to a June 7 runoff .
All of San Antonio’s 10 City Council seats will be on the May 3 municipal election ballot, along with a crowded mayoral race .
Council members elected this year will serve a four-year term, thanks to new longer council limits approved by voters in November.
The job will pay $70,200 per year.
