Please tell voters about yourself.

I was born in West Virginia to military parents. My mother and father were both in the navy. My mother switched to the army and served for over 20 years. I spent some time in Wisconsin, where I earned both a bachelors in English and History and a Master’s in the science of teaching English. I was a restaurant manager, high school teacher, and college professor before moving to San Antonio and becoming a successful business owner.

This is my first time running for any office. I was inspired by the condition of our beautiful city. I have taught civics to highschool students and I tried to inspire to take responsibility for our government. Now I want to step up and show, not just teach.

In the city’s 2024-2025 budget survey, residents ranked homelessness, streets, housing and animal care services among their top concerns for the city to address. Which issues do you consider a top concern for District 2 and how would you work to address them in your first 100 days?

Our roads need help and I would immediately set out to find the 10 most in need of repair and set out a schedule of when they will be repaired properly and not just cheaply. We also have roving packs of animals in District 2.

On day one, I would be working with animal control and the city to provide actual funding for this overwhelmed and undermanned city responsibility. It should not take 3 days to respond to a call, not ever.

In a crowded field of council candidates, what differentiates you from the others?

Passion. Plain and simple passion.  My wife calls me a superhero because I always fight for what is right, even if it is a losing effort. I would bring this passion to do what is right to the city of San Antonio and District 2.

I’m not interested in what is right for me, or what is easiest right now, I’m interested in what is right for District 2. I have no political aspirations beyond representing the people of district 2 so that we can get back on the right track.

If elected, how do you plan to solicit input and feedback from residents in your district?

I would have weekly open houses all across the district. Every section of district 2 would be seen and heard from. The district would know that I am working for them. I would be walking neighborhoods every week, knocking on doors. I will be actively seeking out the thoughts and opinions of the people of District 2. I believe this government only works if we are a government of the people, for the people, and by the people.
