Four days after searching for Suzanne Clark Simpson at a southeast side landfill, Texas Rangers and the Olmos Park Police Department say they haven’t found any evidence and will end the search at that location.
Information gathered during the investigation on Oct. 10 is what led law enforcement to Tessman Republic Services Landfill.
“After conducting an extensive search consisting of digging and sifting through the municipal solid waste, no evidence was found,” said Sgt. Deon Cockrell, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson in a statement on Thursday. “The case is still being investigated and will continue. We ask that anyone with pertinent information come forward.“
Simpson, 51, a real estate agent and mother of four, was last seen on Oct. 6.
Friends and family have been searching for Simpson since Monday, Oct. 7, after she didn’t show up to pick up her child from school.
The search had moved to the southeast side landfill on Monday, following a search in the wooded area near her home in Olmos Park on Oct. 9, and a search in Boerne on Oct. 11.
“Based on data received, not searching this landfill was not an option,” Cockrell said.
Cockrell added that Simpson’s family has been supportive and “exceptionally strong” for her four children and for law enforcement, and that the search will continue.
Earlier on Wednesday, Suzanne Clark Simpson’s brother-in-law Barton Tinsley Simpson, posted to Facebook, condemning Brad’s lack of cooperation throughout the investigation.
“The devastation this has caused to our family is overwhelming. Brad’s refusal to cooperate is unacceptable. My sister and brother-in-law have stepped up to take care of the children, but the impact on our parents has been shattering. Our lives have been irreparably changed. We will not rest until we find Suzanne.”
Police had said on Tuesday that they were “confident” they’ll find her at the landfill.
Her husband, Brad Simpson, remains in jail due to federal holds placed on him by the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ATF for illegally possessing rifles.
