Please tell voters about yourself.

As a high school graduate from Memorial High School I answered my call to be in law enforcement 30 years ago. I was a Deputy Sheriff for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for 25 of those years and the last 5 years have been with Precinct 2 as your elected Constable.

How do you plan to address the increasing workload constables face in a growing county?

I plan to continue my work as your Constable at Precinct 2. With the help of my team I have implemented new License Plate Readers in every vehicle to help track down stolen vehicles, build a traffic team for public safety on roadways, increase community presence through our community policing programs and have expanded our civil team in serving the most civil paperwork in the county for our Justice of the Peace as well as our County and District courts. This budget cycle I have been able to secure 3 more full time positions for our office to help with the heavy influx of civil paperwork.

Why did you decide to seek this office? And why did you decide to run under the party affiliation that you chose?

I decided to seek to run again for this office because we have done great work the last 5 years. My officers are some of the best I have ever worked with and I consider them my brothers and sister in blue and I will constantly work to make sure they are taken care of. Also, public safety will always be issue number one. The safety of our neighborhoods and more especially for my deputies who are out in the field every day interacting with the public in various ways is important.

How do you solicit input and feedback from residents in your precinct?

Our office is always open to feedback from residents. Our office Facebook page receives many comments and questions from the public and we do all that we can to lead them in the right direction. Our office email is also a key form of communication that the community uses to contact us.
