Results from a recent New York Times/CBS News poll showed that more than a third of Millennials will vote for a third party candidate – Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson or Green Party candidate Jill Stein – in November’s election instead of Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.
This group’s dissatisfaction with both Clinton and Trump has led another 10% to say that they won’t vote at all.
This has been criticized by many who fear a Trump win, including Sen. Bernie Sanders who has said that this year’s election is “not the year for a protest vote.” A recent exchange between Johnson and MSNBC host Chris Matthews also caused concern about Johnson’s leadership potential when he couldn’t name a single foreign leader he admires.

The commentary does a great job of insulting Millenial third party voters. Hope they have the last laugh in the end. I am a Gen Xer who will probably vote third party. I know that there has been a lot of care and thought in my decision making, and I trust that Millenials are putting the same into their decision.
Stronger 3rd and 4th parties are exactly what this country needs otherwise we get forced fed two very poor choices such as we are getting this election and so many times in the past! I hope this election damages both Dem and Repub parties and thus help create a third party surge that this country really does need. It is not a wasted or protest vote if you vote your conscience.

Can you believe the audacity of people? Don’t they realize that you have to vote for one of the two main options?
