Edgewood ISD’s seven-member school board serves staggered, four-year terms.

This year four incumbents face contested reelection races, including the board president.

Members are elected on an at-large basis, meaning they each represent the entire school district as opposed to a specific geographic region.

Located on San Antonio’s West Side, the district serves roughly 8,000 students, projected a $3.7 million budget deficit this summer and has a D-rating from the state, considered academically “unacceptable.”

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 5.

Early voting runs Oct. 19-30, and Election Day is Nov. 3.
