The fabulous ART part of the festival, featuring 20 juried fine artists and crafts people, continues to offer fine quality art items for the collector and just in time for year end gifts.  Art booths are open on Saturday from 10 to 5.  Visit the art festival, then stroll through the quaint downtown area as you visit the numerous galleries and shops that grace Wimberley. A Children’s Creative Tent will be the “spot to be” for younger visitors to the Festival on Saturday.

In 2015, downtown Wimberley was named an official Texas Cultural District.  Wimberley has long been famous for its crystal clear creeks and the beautiful Blanco River, and is now getting statewide recognition for the cultural activities that abound in this small village.

WimberleyALIVE! culminates with the 30th Anniversary of the Crisis Bread Basket, Wimberley’s food bank.  For the first time, Crisis Bread Basket will be hosting “EMPTY BOWLS Wimberley” to celebrate this anniversary and to bring new people into contact with this well run and vital food pantry. The EMPTY BOWLS event will be at lunchtime on Sunday, November 13, 11:00 am- 2:00 pm.  Enjoy lunch while helping feed the hungry in the Wimberley Valley listening to one of Wimberley’s newest bands, Double Treble and Big Dog (with lead singer Amy Cox).

And if all this is not exciting enough, kick off your long weekend of festivities at the “SOUPER” Bowl Preview Party on Thursday, November 10, 5 pm-7 pm. The event, at the Wimberley Community Center (14068 RR 12) is FREE and open to the public. Bowls, crafted by fine potters, glass artists and woodworkers, as well as by talented Wimberley art students, will be on view to be auctioned and sold.  One of these bowls is your entrance fee into the EMPTY BOWLS lunch on Sunday, and many of the bowls are sure to be collector’s items.

Admission to the concert, art and preview party is FREE thanks to the generosity of local sponsors.  For those wanting to be “up close and personal” to the music, a very limited number of VIP Packages for Two will be sold for $250.  VIP Packages will include lots of goodies, including preferred seating, a chance to win a guitar autographed by all festival musicians, 2 festival T-shirts, fine dining gift certificates and much more.  Check the WimberleyALIVE! website for more information on purchasing the VIP packages.

For a full listing of the weekends activities and the musicians, keep your eye on www.wimberleyalive.org.  Be sure to make your reservations early to stay the nights of November 10-12th in one of Wimberley’s unique lodging venues, where gracious hosts are ready to welcome you to a fun filled long weekend in “A Little Bit of Heaven.”
