Friday, April 29, 2016 UTSA, Mayor Ivy R. Taylor, Dr. Ricardo Romo, President of the University of Texas at San Antonio dedicate nearly seven acres of the Main Campus to the research and preservation of Texas’ state insect. Mayor Taylor signed the pledge in December 2015, making San Antonio the first Monarch Champion City in the U.S.
