Twenty area organizations dedicated to education received grants totaling a record $65,000 Tuesday as part of the fifth annual San Antonio Regional Public PK-12 Education Forum.
One of the hallmarks of the annual education forum is the distribution of grants to local education nonprofits, both those operating within school districts and those supporting improved public education outcomes, said San Antonio Report Publisher and Editor Robert Rivard.
“It would not be possible to issue these grants without our loyal sponsors who have stuck with us through the pandemic to support Tuesday’s event,” Rivard said. “This year a record number of 20 recipients will share a record $65,000 in grants.”
The grants were made by the San Antonio Report on behalf of the Education Forum, and grants are determined by a subcommittee of the forum committee.
The grants are funded by proceeds from the Education Forum. Fifty-four organizations applied for the funding.
