The San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) will move its headquarters to the downtown Weston Centre in August 2017, the organization announced in a press release Monday morning.

Previously located at 602 E. Commerce St., SAEDF will relocate to San Antonio’s tallest office building on 112 E. Pecan St., where it will occupy 4,869 sq. ft. of space on the 26th floor.

“As our city continues to grow and transform, SAEDF has evolved alongside San Antonio to further drive our community’s economic strength,” SAEDF Chairman Wayne Peacock stated. “Moving the SAEDF headquarters continues this journey and supports our efforts to position San Antonio as a global competitor.”

The private, nonprofit organization “leads transformative economic growth in San Antonio through business recruitment, business retention & expansion, and workforce development with the SA Works program,” according to its press release.

Changes in leadership as well as the integration of SA Works led the group to seek new headquarters in 2016. The Weston Building accommodates SAEDF’s organizational growth while simultaneously supporting efforts to showcase San Antonio as an ideal city for investment and opportunity.

“Our headquarters move is a reflection of the new direction of our organization and the evolution of our community’s economic development strategy,” SAEDF President and CEO Jenna Saucedo-Herrera stated. “By moving into Weston Centre, we’re positioning ourselves to sell San Antonio and our business community from the center of it all.”

SAEDF works to facilitate and promote collaboration between government and innovative companies for the benefit of San Antonio’s businesses.

“SAEDF’s focus to grow and develop our city’s business community closely aligns with our vision for Weston Centre,” said Mona Ghawi, president of Weston Properties, LC. “We look forward to watching our city, and tenants, grow and prosper.”

The 32-story Weston Centre has been an integral part of San Antonio’s skyline since 1989. Its expansive office space, proximity to the River Walk, ample covered parking, access to nearby highways, and amenities make it an attractive home to companies such as BBVA Compass, Dykema Cox Smith, First American Title Company, and Intercontinental Wealth Advisers, among others.
