SAFILM’s official 2018 poster, designed by local artist Mike Fisher, is inspired by the 1927 silent film, Wings, shot on location at Kelly Field in San Antonio. Directed by William A. Wellman, starring Clara Bow and Charles “Buddy” Rogers, Wings won the first Academy Award for Best Picture at the first annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ceremony in 1929.
