As a nonprofit news organization, the San Antonio Report relies on reader support to sustain our local, fact-based journalism. Membership is not a traditional newspaper subscription; membership involves giving a donation that directly support our mission to provide accessible, trusted reporting and civic engagement events to all in the metro area and beyond.
We believe local, independent news should be free and accessible to everyone. That’s why we don’t have a paywall on our site or charge a subscription fee. We believe there is another way to fund quality, local journalism: We ask our readers to contribute to sustain our public service reporting. By relying on donations from community members to cover the costs of journalism – like fees associated with open records requests and salaries for talented, passionate reporters – our newsroom is constantly reminded of who it ultimately serves: you.
