The City of San Antonio announced its holiday service schedule this week. City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015.

Public safety and emergency services will remain in operation. Here is the schedule for garbage and recycling, and operations at Solid Waste Management Department centers:

Garbage and Recycling Collection: Dec. 25 – 26

Thursday collections will take place on Friday, Dec. 26. Friday collections will take place on Saturday, Dec. 27.

Closed Friday, Dec. 26: Bitters Brush Recycling Center, Bitters Household Hazardous Waste Facility, Nelson Gardens Brush Recycling Center, Bitters Bulky Waste Center, and Frio City Road Bulky Waste Center.

Open Saturday, Dec. 27: Bitters Brush Recycling Center, Bitters Household Hazardous Waste Facility, Nelson Gardens Brush Recycling Center, Bitters Bulky Waste Center, and Frio City Road Bulky Waste Center.

Dead animal collection services will be closed on Dec. 25.

*Don’t forget to recycle your Christmas tree! After the holidays, recycle your Christmas tree into nutrient-rich mulch for free by bringing it to one of 17 drop-off locations throughout the city. Dates are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 10, 11, 17, and 18.

Citizens may also pay citations using the 24-hour drop box located in the front of the Frank Wing Building, 401 S. Frio St. or in person with a city court clerk at the Magistrate and Detention Center, open 24 hours a day.

On-Street Parking Meters:
-Parking Meter Holiday: Dec. 24 – 26 and Dec. 31 – Jan. 1
-Parking garages and parking lots (all City-operated): All garages and parking lots will be open.

Open Records Requests:
All requests submitted to the City after 5 p.m. on Dec. 23 through Jan. 1 will be marked as received on Jan. 2, 2015.

Parks:
Holiday Hours at Parks and Recreation facilities may vary from regular hours of operation during the week of Dec. 22 and the week of Dec. 29. Please call ahead to confirm. The Natatorium, Community Centers, Senior Centers, Barrera, and McFarlin all close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31.
